OUR CHURCH
MediaCity UK Church is a partnership between Oasis Church and the United Reformed Church. We are a community of ordinary people exploring life together, where everyone is welcomed.
Our mission is simply this: To be an example of what an inclusive community, living Christ’s way, looks and acts like.
As Church we recognise that people are not one dimensional beings, but that we are made up of encompassing, interlinking needs that create who we are. We believe that all people are made in the image of God, so therefore everyone is precious. With that understanding it is our response to offer Church that is relevant and accessible to the local community; focussing on supporting people’s immediate needs, as well as their spiritual needs by providing a holistic environment where they can belong. Our ethos is that of inclusion, that anyone is welcome regardless of difference, opinion or background.

Are you interested in building a progressive, inclusive, activist church in Salford that works to transform our local community?
Active Church is a one-day event to witness the difference a local church is making in inner-city London and learn practical lessons to change this community in Salford.
Hosted by Steve Chalke (founder of Oasis and founding minister at Oasis Church Waterloo), Nathan Jones (senior minister at Oasis Church Waterloo and leader of Oasis Hub Waterloo) and Ruth Watson (minister at MediaCityUK Church), Active Church is aimed at anyone interested in helping us to create an action plan that sets out the first steps towards building a progressive, inclusive, activist church in Salford.
The day will include:
- The theology which underpins the Oasis/URC partnership
- An overview from Steve and Nath of the role of Oasis Church Waterloo
- A ‘community clinic’: how to do this in Salford
- Plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
